For the supply of water, people generally can pay enough attention in the summer, but in winter, the water demand of the chicken is relatively low, and people often ignore the chicken's drinking water. In fact, chickens also need water in the winter to maintain normal life activities and production. Chickens lack water, food appetite decreases, and egg production declines. In severe cases, chickens stop laying eggs, lose weight, and finally die due to exhaustion. Drinking water in winter should pay attention to the following points:

Water temperature cannot be too low. Chicken drinking cold water can reduce the egg production rate, feed consumption increased, the water temperature is generally 10 °C -20 °C is appropriate. Conditionally, a large container can be placed in the chicken house to allow the water temperature to rise.

The amount of water in the sink is appropriate. The water in the sink should not be too much to prevent the body from being frosted. For a flat chicken house, the sink must have means to prevent the chicken from entering the trough.

Keep drinking water clean. The drinking water of the chicken should be clean and the sink should be cleaned frequently.

Provide plenty of water. The water requirement of chickens is generally 2 times that of feed intake, but the actual demand is often affected by temperature and feed intake. Therefore, sufficient water should be provided to allow chickens to freely drink water.
