Since late April 2013, the food and drug supervision and management system of Hainan Province has mobilized 1,187 law enforcement officers to carry out special campaigns to rectify false and illegal medical advertisements, interviewed 36 advertising operators, advertised 18 media, and inspected various types of pharmacies. 196 specialty stores and drug supermarkets transferred 13 varieties of illegal advertisements to the provincial industrial and commercial departments, announced 25 varieties of severely illegal drugs, 4 varieties of medical devices, and 7 varieties of health foods and reported them to the State Food and Drug Administration. 10 kinds of medicines, medical devices and health food products that are required to be suspended for sale are screened. According to reports from other provinces, the Hainan Food and Drug Administration instructed the Haikou Municipal Bureau to take back five advertising approval numbers of Haikou Tianfang Natural Health Products Co., Ltd. The two varieties voluntarily waived thematic advertisements and played approved brand advertisements instead. Through this special rectification campaign, the media illegal advertising rate has dropped by more than 80% from the same period of last year.

In the 1st to 2nd quarter of this year, a total of 1365 serious illegal medical advertisements were detected in Hainan Province, and the processing rate was 100%.
