Due to the cold weather in winter, there are many inconveniences for the use and maintenance of agricultural machinery. The engine is not only difficult to start, but also the fuel consumption will increase, and it is easy to produce ice, so the effective insulation and anti-freeze becomes the key to improving the efficiency of agricultural machinery in the cold season.

First, prevent freezing machine parts

1. After the day's work is completed, operate the throttle for a few minutes. After the temperature of the standby unit has decreased, turn off the engine and put the cooling water. Pay attention to not be able to operate with full throttle, full power, sudden flameout, and immediate release of water to prevent the body from cracking due to sudden cooling. When opening the water tank cover and all drain switches, be sure to drain the net. Not only in the winter, but also in the late autumn, early spring and cold wave, when the temperature reaches 5 °C or less, pay attention to the release of water.

2. In the cold season, antifreeze should be added to the cooling water.

3. Regularly release the water in the fuel tank and strictly prevent the water from mixing into the diesel oil to prevent the diesel from freezing.

4. Appropriately increase the proportion of battery electrolyte (1.28 ~ 1.31), use a supplementary charging method to keep the battery in a fully charged state, so that the battery will not be too much loss due to low temperature capacitance and cracking battery shell.

Second, strengthen the body insulation

1. Tractors and other agricultural machinery should be parked in a garage as much as possible to prevent them from being eroded by ice and rain.

2. Start the engine to warm up in advance by adding hot water of about 60°C to the cooling system, stop for a few minutes, and then heat the water after discharge until the temperature of the machine reaches above 40°C. After heating, it is injected into the machine (note that the oil pan cannot be directly heated with an open flame); use an electric flame preheater for a short time.

3. Cover the engine with insulation curtains and insulation jackets. If necessary, use cardboard to block the wind.

4. Some engines with organic oil radiators should be toggled to the "Winter" position so that the oil does not flow through the oil radiator.
