On August 1st, the 5th "Academician Lecture Hall" hosted by the International Institute of Technology and Economics of the Development Research Center of the State Council was successfully opened. Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Professor of Biomedical Engineering and Medical Systems Biology Research Center of Tsinghua University School of Medicine, and Cheng Jing, Director of the National Engineering Research Center of Biochip Beijing, gave a lecture entitled “Review and Prospect of China Biochip Industry”. Researchers from the Development Research Center of the State Council and the Ministry of Science and Technology participated in the study.

Academician Cheng Jing explained the three issues of "Biochip and Bio-Big Data", "Biochip and External Challenges", and analyzed the significance of biochips and related advanced biotechnology to improve China's medical level. And the problems facing the development of China's biomedical industry. Mr. Cheng combined with biochip technology to focus on three issues: how to rationalize the mechanism and promote the transformation of biotechnology, how to take the road of China's precision medical treatment , and how to combine modern technology to promote the development of traditional Chinese medicine. It is proposed that the Chinese medical "Yellow Emperor Plan" should be developed to "precise prevention of preemptive, precise early warning and precise diagnosis and treatment" to promote the overall improvement of China's medical level.

During the lecture, Academician Cheng Jing discussed with audiences and scholars about biological big data and personal privacy, social impact and security threats, and shared Boao's experience in bio-big data management. The data should be strictly managed at the national level. Relevant departments should introduce relevant laws and regulations as soon as possible, clarify the disciplinary system, increase supervision, enhance the intensity of implementation, and protect China's biological big data security in all aspects.
