Therefore, improving the disinfection of chicken houses is an effective measure to prevent the occurrence of various diseases. Fumigation is a common method for sterilizing broiler houses. Fumigation is the use of formalin and potassium permanganate reaction to produce formaldehyde gas, after a certain period of time to kill pathogenic microorganisms. Its greatest advantage is that the fumigating drugs can be evenly distributed to all corners of the house, and the disinfection is thorough and complete, which is particularly suitable for the disinfection of contaminated air in the house.

Before the poultry house is fumigated and sterilized, it is necessary to check the tightness of the poultry house. If there is a gap, seal with plastic cloth, waste paper or tape. Both potassium permanganate and formalin are corrosive and react violently after mixing, releasing heat and generally lasting 10-30 minutes. Therefore, the container containing the drug should be large enough and resistant to corrosion.

The formaldehyde produced by the reaction of formalin and potassium permanganate can only sterilize the surface of the object, so the poultry house should be mechanically cleaned and spray-disinfected prior to fumigation.

The temperature and humidity should be appropriate. Formalin and potassium permanganate are used for fumigation in poultry houses. Generally, the temperature should not be lower than 18°C, and the relative humidity should be 60-80%. It should not be lower than 60%. When the temperature is 26°C and the relative humidity is more than 80%, the fumigation sterilization effect is best.

When fowling fumigation disinfection drug concentration and proportion should be appropriate, generally according to formalin 30 ml/m3, potassium permanganate 15 g/m3 and 15 ml of water per cubic meter calculated amount is appropriate.
