4. Marshall automatic compaction test
First, preparation work
1. Determine the mixing and compaction temperature of the asphalt mixture test piece.
2. Use automatic mixing material mixing machine asphalt mixture.
3. Wipe the test mold, sleeve and compaction seat with a cotton yarn dipped in a little butter, and heat it in an oven at about 100 °C for 1 hour.
Second, the use of steps
1. Add the heated mixture to the test mold. Insert the thermometer near the center of the mix. After the temperature meets the requirements, a small oil-absorbing paper is placed on the prepared mixture, and the compacting head equipped with the compacting hammer and the guiding rod is inserted into the test mold.
2. Toggle the “Preset” dial to set the number of taps as needed. Press the “Set” button to display the preset number in the window. Press the “Power On” button, the motor will rotate, and after the number of times of compaction is reached, the window will display “00” and the motor will stop automatically.
3. After the test piece is compacted, remove the sleeve, turn the test head off, install the sleeve, and then compact the other side in the same way and times.
4. When the test piece is finished, immediately remove the paper from the top with tweezers and measure the height of the test piece with a caliper. If the test piece does not meet the requirements, the test piece should be invalid. The sleeve and the base are removed according to the requirements, and after standing at room temperature for 12 hours, the test piece is taken out from the demoulding machine.
Third, matters needing attention
1. If the counter does not work after power-on, check whether the distance between the contact switch or the limit switch and the metal piece of the chain is too large, and the gap between them should not exceed 2mm.
2. After the machine is stopped, if you don't need long-term pronunciation of music, you can press the preset button and the sound will be none.

1. Press the power supply to preset the number of times of compaction.
2. Remove the preheated test mold and sleeve from the oven. Brush the test mold and the sleeve base and the bottom surface with a little butter, put the test mold on the base, pad a circular oil-absorbing small paper, and mix the insulation in the oven with a spatula according to the quadruple method. Scrape into the test mold, use a large screwdriver to insert 15 times along the circumference, 10 times in the middle, after the transplanting, the surface of the asphalt mixture is leveled into a convex arc surface.
3. Insert the thermometer and place the test mold on the compaction table together with the base when the compaction temperature of the mixture is reached. Insert a round paper on the mixture, insert the compacting head with the compacting hammer and the guide bar into the test mold, and press the “Start” button.
4. After the test piece has been compacted, remove the sleeve, turn the test piece off, install the sleeve, and then compact the other side in the same way and times.
5. After the test piece is finished, remove the upper and lower sides of the paper, and measure the height of the upper part of the test piece with a long ruler, and calculate the height of the test piece. If the height does not meet the requirements, the test piece shall be discarded, and the quality of the mixture of the test piece shall be adjusted to re-compact.
6. After the test piece containing the test piece is placed and cooled to room temperature (not less than 12 h), the test piece is taken out on the stripping machine.
