FDA approves the first titanium 3D printed ankle implant iFuse-3D

It is reported that the iFuse-3D implant of California medical device company SI-BONE has been successfully approved by the FDA. It is also the first titanium 3D printed implant for the ankle joint (SI). Currently, the company has announced the commercial launch of the 3D printed implant in the United States. The SI joint is located between the humerus and the pelvis of the pelvis, and 15% to 30% of chronic low back pain is caused by it.

With the FDA approval of the iFuse-3D implant, SI-BONE is launching its first 3D printed implant for SI joint fusion. According to reports, the iFuse-3D implant is made using a proprietary 3D printing process. The process produces a unique, patented perforated design and reinforced porous surface that mimics the trabecular structure of cancellous bone.
