During operation, first cut off the corner base and the surrounding hair, then apply Vaseline around the base of the corner to prevent the application of caustic potash into the eyes. Apply cautery to the base of the yak horn with a caustic pot until bleeding. The operation should be careful. If the application is incomplete, the growth point of the corner cannot be destroyed. The corners will still grow. Generally, about a week after smearing, the scabs on the application area will fall off on their own. This method should be used to separate from other yaks at the beginning of the decapitulation while avoiding rain, so as to prevent caustic potassium from flowing into the eyes or causing facial skin damage.

Third, pay attention to matters 1. Yak cattle should be isolated from the original herd. 2. The cleaning equipment must be washed and thoroughly disinfected before use. 3. After dehorning treatment, it should be isolated for several days for observation and emergency handling. 4. At the beginning of the chamfering treatment, interference by mosquitoes and flies should be avoided as much as possible 5. Older cattle can use a saw, rake or other special dehorner to dehorn.
