According to the Xinhua News Agency, the research team of Shanghai Jiaotong University independently developed a new technology for the diagnosis of coronary heart disease.

The new technology is called the Quantitative Flow Fraction (QFR) measurement system. The diagnostic principle is to use the image data to perform three-dimensional reconstruction and hemodynamic analysis of the coronary arteries without additional surgery, consumables and drugs.

This technology has been officially approved by the State Drug Administration, making up for the lack of diagnostic tools for coronary heart disease in China.

Coronary atherosclerotic heart disease is a coronary artery angiogenic atherosclerotic lesion that causes stenosis or obstruction of the vascular lumen, causing heart disease caused by myocardial ischemia, hypoxia or necrosis, often referred to as "coronary heart disease." The World Health Organization classifies coronary heart disease into five broad categories: asymptomatic myocardial ischemia (occult coronary heart disease), angina pectoris, myocardial infarction, ischemic heart failure (ischemic heart disease), and sudden death. Clinically, it is often divided into stable coronary heart disease and acute coronary syndrome.

According to the "China Cardiovascular Disease Report 2017 (Summary)", Chinese patients have reached 11 million coronary heart disease. According to statistics, the mortality rate of coronary heart disease has been on the rise.
