Boron three methods for vegetables

Boron is one of the most widely used trace elements in vegetable production. The main reasons for the lack of boron in vegetables: First, most of the vegetables have a higher demand for boron, such as rape, celery, spinach, radish, etc. Another reason is that boron and nitrate are as easy to lose, and vegetable cultivation especially facilities If the amount of cultivation irrigation is too large, soluble boron in the soil is easily lost. The commonly used boron fertilizer is borax and boric acid, which can be used as base fertilizer, seed fertilizer and foliar fertilizer.

1. Base fertilizer. When boron is used as a basal fertilizer, it can be mixed with nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium fertilizers, or it can be applied alone. It is required that the boron fertilizer be evenly distributed in the field with 125-200 grams of pure boron applied per acre. The basal fertilizer has a long-term effect on the use of boron fertilizers. Generally, it can last for 3-5 years once it is applied. However, the application amount must not be arbitrarily increased to avoid damage to vegetables.

2. Seed fertilizer. Put the seed in a 0.01%-0.1% borax solution twice the amount of seeds, soak the seed for 12-24 hours, remove and wash with water, and then germination, sowing, and seedling.

3. Leaf spray fertilizer. In the peak period of boron in vegetables can be sprayed. The most effective spraying period is: solanaceous vegetables are sprayed 2-3 times in the post-emergence and early flowering stages; root vegetables are sprayed twice in the post-emergence to the root growth stage; cabbage vegetables are in the post-emergence, rosette stage, and knots. The ball is sprayed 2-3 times in the initial stage; leafy vegetables are sprayed 2-3 times during the post-emergence to the growing season. When the symptoms of boron deficiency occur in the field, they should be sprayed 2-3 times as soon as possible, each time between 5-7 days. Foliar spraying is recommended to use sodium salt of octaborate or potassium octoborate with high water-solubility and content, and the spraying concentration is 800-1000 times. The spraying concentration of vegetables at seedling stage may be reduced as appropriate, and slightly higher during the later growth period. Boron poisoning should not be caused by exceeding the appropriate concentration.
