Summer meat duck growth environment adjustment

The optimum growth temperature for ducks after 28 days of age is 21°C, while summer temperatures often exceed 30°C. In hot weather, ducks often suffer from heat stroke and heat stress and cause fainting and even death in large numbers. Therefore, the heatstroke prevention and cooling work has become the key and difficult point in the feeding and management of summer meat ducks. It should mainly start from the following aspects:

Increase ventilation. Increased ventilation in duck houses can promote air flow and speed up the evaporation of ducks, which in turn reduces the body temperature of ducks while maintaining fresh air inside the house and reducing the occurrence and spread of diseases. However, most of the individual farmers in the northern regions are greenhouse-style ducks, and the conditions of the sheds are poor. It is difficult to achieve effective longitudinal ventilation and cooling measures for fans and curtains. In dealing with high temperatures in summer, the plastic sheeting on both sides of the shed should be rolled up, and the fan should be used to increase ventilation to reduce the temperature inside the house. At night, the ventilation volume should be appropriately increased to mitigate the effects of intense heat during the day.

Shade cooling. In order to reduce solar radiation can be painted white roof, and do a good job of greening, the use of plant shelter can effectively reduce the temperature inside the house.
