The signing ceremony of the series of deepening cooperation projects between our province and Tencent Company was held in Beijing. Governor Shen Xiaoming and Chairman of the Board of Directors and CEO of Tencent, Ma Huateng.

At the signing ceremony, the relevant departments and enterprises of our province signed six cooperation agreements with Tencent and Tencent Cooperative.

It is understood that this batch of contracted projects covers the Internet industry, smart medical care , smart transportation, government services and the capital increase investment agreement of the “Tencent Department” Hainan enterprises. The application demonstration projects are all funded by Tencent, and introduce the most advanced and highest-quality technical resources, which will make positive contributions to Hainan's big data integration and information construction.

In order to build a modern economic system, since 2015, the provincial party committee and the provincial government have established 12 key industries, such as tourism, tropical high-efficiency agriculture, Internet industry, medical and health industry, exhibition industry, modern logistics industry and pharmaceutical industry. In the development goal of “three years of formation and five years of development”, in 2017, the added value of the twelve key industries increased by 10.1%, and the investment increased by 10.5%, accounting for more than 70% of the total economic output. Among them, the Internet industry as a highlight, the average annual growth rate of more than 25%, including a number of well-known Internet companies including Tencent settled in Hainan. In recent years, Tencent's layout and development in Hainan has been continuously promoted, which has played a very good role in promoting the development of Hainan's Internet industry. In particular, WeChat's “Smart Hainan” public service platform has improved the public service level of Hainan Province. It also brought a group of “Tencent Department” enterprises to Hainan. Last year, Hainan Tencent achieved a business income of more than 1.4 billion yuan.

The Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, the Provincial Health Planning Commission, the Haikou Municipal Government, the Sanya Municipal Government, the Chengmai County Government, and the responsible persons of Tencent and Tencent Cooperative Enterprises attended the signing ceremony.
