Grape summer cutting skills

Grapes enter the vigorous growth period in summer and pruning management must be strengthened.

1. Stubble. In summer, all buds sprouting from the main bud of grapes should be erased in time.

2. Thinning. After germination, the new shoots should be removed in a timely manner according to the strength of the growth and the quality of the inflorescence. The excess fruitless shoots, the budding shoots, and the weak and dense shoots should be promptly removed. The sparse branch was divided into two stages. After the first sparse removal, a small amount of excess branches were left and the excess branches were sparserly cleaned again the second time.

3. Snoring. With the growth of new shoots, the summer shoots between each leaf can germinate into secondary shoots at any time. For these secondary shoots, 1-2 leaves except one on the top of the top were removed, and the rest of the secondary shoots were knocked out.

4. Take heart. 5-6 days before flowering of the grape, above the inflorescence of the resulting shoot, 6-8 leaves were picked up.

5. Thinning of fruit and inflorescences. 5-7 days before flowering, pinch off too many inflorescences according to grape growth and variety characteristics. The results of the branches more than 1 cm in diameter, leaving two inflorescences per branch, generally leaving an inflorescence. At the same time, pin down the remaining inflorescence by one-fifth of the top to promote fruit filling.

6. Tie new shoots. When the shoots grow to 30-40 cm, they are tied to the shelf. To make full use of space, you can leave 1/3 unattached and let it grow freely.

7. Go for tendrils. Grape tendrils consume large amounts of nutrients. Therefore, during the entire growing season of grapes, tendrils that have just been stretched should be promptly removed in order to reduce nutrient consumption and prevent them from being twisted around.
