Diagnosis and Treatment of Newly-produced Laying Gall Disease

On August 25th, the laying hens that had been raised by a chicken farmer for more than one month showed onset of purple-brown chickens, soft-legged legs, crooked legs, side-lying position, and two legs or one-leg extension. Pull yellow-white or yellow-green paste dung. There were sporadic deaths of chickens late in the morning or early in the morning, and when the temperature was high in the middle of the afternoon, the number of dead chickens increased. After the diagnosis and treatment by the author, the chickens returned to health.

The necropsy: sternum curved or soft, lung congestion, edema, dark red liver, texture is more brittle and easy to spleen, spleen and kidney congestion, ovarian follicular surface bleeding, uterine congestion, there is a soft shell, duodenal wall Congestion, hemorrhage, intestinal mucosa shedding, a lot of light yellow content.

According to the above, it is diagnosed as layer chicken disease.

Etiology: The temperature in the chicken house is still high, the feed intake of the chicken is reduced, and the metabolism is strong. The first layer laying hens develop immature, and the egg production causes increased nutrient consumption, which makes the chicken body malnourished. The farmer was fed self-formulated feed and the ratio of protein, calcium, and phosphorus was inappropriate, causing paralysis.

Prevention: Strengthen ventilation, do not rush to raise the stocking density, try to increase the feed intake of chickens, especially chickens over 100 days of age should promptly increase the content of various vitamins in the feed; chickens should be replaced in the early production period Feed to prevent malnutrition; Add appropriate amount of vitamin AD3 or cod liver oil in feed to promote the absorption of calcium in feed; Improve sanitation and disinfection of poultry house, chute, sink cleaning regularly, timely removal of feces; found chickens in time to isolate, and use Oxytetracycline, carbendazim and other drugs to prevent diarrhea and secondary infection in chickens; in the feed to add appropriate antibiotics to prevent E. coli disease.

Note: If coccidiosis, enteritis, or indiscriminate use of antibiotics and disinfectants by individual chicken farmers can also affect the absorption of nutrients by chickens, the layer will be malnourished and paralyzed. Chicken farmers must pay attention.
