Opening remarks: In recent years, due to market fluctuations, feed price increases, and epidemics, etc., pig breeding, raising chickens, etc., have been seen as a growing risk of aquaculture project breeding. Corresponding to this, due to relatively stable benefits, sheep breeding has gradually become a hot spot. Many readers have come to call the newspaper to publish technical articles on sheep breeding. To this end, we specially invited Wang Zhenqi, a teacher at the Xingtai City Agricultural School, to write a essay, combining current practice, to decompose and refine the comprehensive breeding technology of mutton sheep, and explain it in a simple and easy way. From this issue, we will post an article every Thursday, so stay tuned. At this moment, it is the season of the lamb lamb. In order to ensure the healthy growth of the lamb and improve the survival rate, the following six aspects of feeding management should be done.

1. Careful Nursing The newborn lamb has a lot of mucus. The mucus should try to make the ewes dry, or dry them with a clean, dry cloth. First, wipe the mucus in the mouth, nose, and ears (avoiding foreign body pneumonia). After the lamb is born, the umbilical cord is fractured naturally. If the umbilical cord is not broken, use a finger 5 to 8 centimeters from the root of the umbilical cord to twist it off. Then use 5% iodine to coat the broken end for disinfection. Never cut off the umbilical cord with scissors or blades. Nor can the umbilical cord be ligated.

2. Eat colostrum as soon as possible The lamb is born within 1 hour and it is necessary to eat colostrum as soon as possible. Colostrum is rich in minerals, proteins, fats and other nutrients and antibodies, which is beneficial to the elimination of meconium and plays an important role in enhancing the body and disease resistance of lambs. Newborn lambs are inspected once every 2 to 3 hours and their spirit, defecation and feeding are observed and problems are solved in time. We need to find nanny sheep or artificial breastfeeding for missing and multiple lambs. Milk, goat's milk and milk powder are all available. Feeding should be regular, quantitative, constant temperature (35-39°C), and feeding every 6 hours, January After the age, it can be fed once every 8 hours and then after 12 hours. As the lamb's age and weight increase, the number of feedings can be reduced to once a day. At the same time, we must strictly control the amount of breast-feeding. Insufficiency can cause malnutrition and slow growth; if it is excessive, it can cause indigestion and cause diarrhea in lambs.

3. Note that the ability of cold-proof lambs to resist low temperatures is very weak. Due to the low temperature in early spring, it is very important to do cold insulation work. Keep the sheep house clean, dry and warm. The temperature of the sheep house should not be lower than 5°C, and even bedding or dry soil should be used to keep the floor dry. Ewes and lambs are bred in a single bar. In sunny weather, the ewes and lambs can enjoy the sun.

4. Strengthen supplementary feeding In the early period of lactation, the nutrition of the lamb is mainly dependent on breast milk. In order to save the cost of cultivation, it is necessary to feed the ewes in time. Generally, after 7 days of birth, the lamb starting material (puffed milk replacer) can be fed. The amount of supplement can be determined according to the actual situation. Generally, 0.5 kg of concentrate, 1 kg of silage, and 1.5 kg of hay can be supplemented daily. Daily supplementation of ewes for 1 or 2 rounds of dilute can increase ewes' milk production. Thinning practice: Add a little salt and a small amount of water to the powdered concentrate and mix well, then pour into a boiled pot and stir for 30 minutes to serve as congee. The clinker is more easily digested and absorbed than the raw material.

For lactating ewes, the following methods can be used for prolactinization to ensure adequate milk: 1 Feeding with 200 g of Jianshui with pro-galactoam tablets or Chinese herbal medicines, Astragalus membranaceus, Vaccaria, pangolin, and milkweed, once a day for 3 days . 2 Soybean 250 grams, soaked in water, then refine and cooked, let the ewe drink from the cool, twice a day, for 3 to 4 days. 3 250 grams of honey, egg, two, after the mixture of ewe feeding, once a day, once every 2 to 3 days.

5. As soon as possible training to eat lambs Lambs born about half a month training to eat grass, which can exercise digestion, lay the foundation for complete weaning and growth. At the beginning, you can feed some high-quality hay, carrots, leaves, etc., and then feed crushed corn, bean cakes, etc., and add some chopped succulent feed to enhance palatability. Lambs can feed in the feeding column, and can eat breast milk outside the column. The combination of the two can meet the needs of lamb development.

6. Disease prevention Lambs are most likely to suffer from lamb dysentery within a week or so of birth and should pay attention to environmental hygiene during this period. The sheep house should be kept dry, clean, warm and fresh air. In the areas where people often suffer from morbidity, ewes should be injected with diarrhea vaccines every year for ewes, and they should be injected again 2 to 3 weeks before delivery. We must take good care of the weak lambs. We use 10 ml of 50% glucose, 50 units of coenzyme A, and 20 mg of ATP every day for the second to third day of birth to mix and evenly inject into the veins to increase energy, which can increase the disease resistance of the lamb.
