When the chicks hatched, the whole body was covered by small villi, which did not provide insulation. Therefore, during the brooding period, it is necessary to provide warmth. With the increase of the chick's age, the feathers of the chicks will gradually grow and be replaced, and the body temperature regulation ability will gradually increase.

3, digestive function is not perfect. Chicks have a strong metabolism, rapid growth and development, but the chicks have small digestive organs, store less food, and have poor digestion. Therefore, when feeding young chickens, it is necessary to provide nutritious and easily digested feed.

4, poor resistance. The chicks are small and delicate, have weak resistance to diseases and are susceptible to diseases. Therefore, veterinarians must strictly control environmental sanitation in the brooding stage and effectively do a good job of preventing epidemics.

5, timid, strong social groups. Chicks are more sensitive, timid and frightened. The living environment of the chicks must be kept quiet to avoid noise or sudden scaring. Non-workers should avoid entering the brooding house.

Within 1-2 days before brooding, the temperature in the house is raised to about 35°C, and the relative humidity is maintained at about 70%.
