Turtles have more feed and have a wide range of recipes. There are two major species: animal feeds and plant feeds. There are also mixed feeds. In some places, quail feeds and fish feeds are also used to feed turtles. It has also received very good results.
1. Animal feed: feed as much animal feed as possible, such as cockroach, cocoon, snail, mealworm, small fish, snail shellfish, as well as animal waste such as pig blood, internal organs, and moths, insects, etc. (You can use black light to trap at night). Feeding animal feed should pay attention to freshness, and do not feed [illegal words to be masked] spoilage feeds, and even pay attention to preventing feeding of turtles with dead fish and shrimp that are contaminated with pesticides or animals with severe disease. Also avoid long-term feeding of high-fat foods. These feeds are chopped into small pieces before feeding.
2. Plant feed: The variety of vegetable feedstuff is very wide. Localities can use local resources to cultivate turtles according to local conditions, such as bean cakes, peanut cakes, corn, sorghum, wheat, and even rice and millet can also feed turtles. Fruit and vegetable plants can also be fed with turtles, such as pumpkins, winter melons, watermelon rinds, apple husks, duckweed and young grasses, and potatoes. Feeding turtles with hard, vegetable feed should be followed by soaking in swollen water before feeding. If possible, feed it after cooking. Bulk vegetable feeds should be chopped and then fed.
3. Mixed feed: The mixed feed has comprehensive nutrition and many varieties, and it is divided into juvenile, juvenile and adult turtle feed according to its growth stage. At present, the formulation of turtle feed research is not very detailed.
(1) Juvenile turtle feed formula: 77% of fishmeal, 2% of brewer's yeast, 18% of α-starch, 1% of blood meal, 1% of complex vitamin, and 1% of mineral salt.
(2) Fine turtle feed formula: fish meal 70%, silkworm cocoon powder 5%, beer yeast 1%, α-starch 20%, blood powder 1%, multivitamin 1%, mineral salt 1%.
(3) Adult Turtle Feed Formula 1: 70% Beiyang Fishmeal, 22% α-Potato Starch, 3% Beer Yeast, 1% Multivitamin, 3% Dicalcium Phosphate, and 1% Mineral Salt.
(4) Adult Turtle Feed Formula 2: Fish meal 67%, active glutathion 2%, brewer's yeast 3%, α-potato starch 22%, bean cake protein (50%) 4.4%, multivitamin 1%, choline chloride ( 50%) 0.3%, mineral salt 0.3%.
Feeding
Feeding the feed depends on the temperature of the water in different seasons. In summer, high temperature should be fed with more protein-containing feed. In autumn, the water temperature is low and more feed should be fed with slightly more fat. From the spring to the end of April, they are fed once a day from 8 to 9 o'clock in the morning, and the amount of feeding accounts for 5% to 10% of the total body weight of the turtle (water-containing food). After May, they will be fed once a day at 9 am and 3 pm. When the water temperature in summer season is higher than 33°C, the feeding time in the afternoon should be arranged around 5-10 o'clock, and the feeding amount should account for 7%-10% of the overall weight of the turtle (water-containing food). Before and after the fall to the dew, the amount of feeding can be appropriately reduced, and before and after the equinox, it is changed to feeding once a day. To feed mixed feed (dry material), the general amount is about 3% of the total weight of the turtle. In principle, the amount of bait should be set within 2 hours of serving, and the amount of food for the next day can be arranged according to the previous day's food intake.
