Cell phone call radiation affects children's memory

Swiss researchers have recently discovered that radio frequency electromagnetic fields generated by long-term use of mobile phones may have an adverse effect on the development of memory in adolescent specific brain regions. Experts suggest that it is best to wear headphones or turn on the speakers when talking on a mobile phone to reduce the damage of high-frequency radiation to human health.

The study was led by the Swiss Institute of Tropical and Public Health. The researchers surveyed about 700 Swiss teenagers between the ages of 12 and 17. The results show that the RF electromagnetic field has a negative impact on the graphics memory function on the right side of the phone that is often used to answer calls.

Researchers believe that the ability of graphic memory is mainly responsible for the right hemisphere. If the brain is often affected by high-frequency electromagnetic fields, the ability to remember the specific image of the shape, size, color and other objects will be reduced. However, the study found that using mobile phones to send text messages, play games, or browse the Internet has no significant impact on the development of adolescents' memory compared to cell phone calls. This may be because the RF electromagnetic fields generated by such operations are relatively small.
