Brief introduction to the working method of the mixer

In the mixing process of most mixers, the following five methods are mainly included:
(1) Shear mixing: forming a shearing surface with each other in the material to cause mixing of the materials.
(2) Convection mixing: Many agglomerated material particles move from one location of the mixer to another for relative flow.
(3) Diffusion mixing: The particles of the mixed material move around in a single particle unit, similar to the molecular diffusion process in gases and liquids. It is an irregular movement, especially when the particulate material is under vibration or in a fluidized state, the diffusion effect is extremely obvious.
(4) Impact mixing: the individual particles are dispersed under the action of the material and the wall shell.
(5) pulverization and mixing: material particles are deformed and mashed.
The five mixing methods exist simultaneously in each mixing process, but the first three are the main ones. Taking a glass batching mixer as an example, the mixing process can be divided into three stages. First, the raw material particles are agglomerated from one part of the mixer to the other part, and convectively mixed. Secondly, different raw material particles are gradually dispersed over the newly formed interface, and diffusion mixing is performed. After zui, under the action of self-weight and centrifugal force, the raw material particles with similar shape, size and density will be concentrated in different parts of the mixer, which is called particle accumulation. The first two effects are favorable for mixing, and the latter is a separation which hinders uniform distribution of particles. These three phases occur simultaneously during the mixing time, but the extent of the effect is different during different mixing times.
