The level or group of selected explosion-proof luminaires should not be lower than the level and group of explosive mixtures in an explosive atmosphere. At the same time, the impact of the environment on explosion-proof lamps should be considered, and the requirements of various environments such as ambient temperature, air humidity, corrosion or polluting substances should be met. The degree of protection and corrosion resistance of the luminaire should be selected according to different environmental requirements. Especially in the presence of corrosive gases in explosive atmospheres, it is important to choose a luminaire with appropriate corrosion protection.
Explosion-proof luminaires should be checked from the nameplate and the product manual before installation: explosion-proof type, category, grade, group; protection grade of the enclosure; installation method and fastener requirements for installation. The installation of explosion-proof luminaires must be securely fixed, the fastening bolts must not be replaced arbitrarily, and the spring washers should be complete. The sealing ring for dustproof and waterproof should be placed as it is when it is installed. At the cable entry point, the cable and the sealing gasket should be closely matched. The section of the cable should be round, and the surface of the sheath should not have defects such as bumps. The excess inlet port shall be sealed according to the type of explosion-proof, and the compression nut shall be tightened to seal the inlet port.
Explosion-proof lamps and lampshades should be able to automatically cut off the power before opening. However, because the interlocking device is complicated and difficult to implement, most of the lamps only have a warning sign on the outer casing that is clearly prohibited from being powered on. Because the surface temperature is still high after the lamp is powered off, if the lamp cover is turned on immediately, there is still the danger of igniting the explosive gas mixture (mainly the explosion-proof structure), so the incandescent lamp, the high-pressure mercury lamp, the high-pressure sodium lamp, the light source with high surface temperature of the bulb. Pay attention to this when you can quickly open the cover. The CeY-1 type explosion-proof fluorescent lamp used by the author has an interlocking mechanism for opening and closing the power, which provides convenience and safety for the maintenance work. Since the fluorescent lamp is a cold light source lamp, there is no high temperature on the surface, and the cover can be opened immediately after the power is turned off.
When replacing the bulb (tube), the explosion-proof joint surface of the explosion-proof lamp should be properly protected and must not be damaged; the cleaned explosion-proof surface should be coated with phosphate paste or 204-1 anti-rust oil, and it is forbidden to paint other paint; There shall be no rust layer on the surface. If there is slight rust, there shall be no numbness after cleaning. Sealing rings for dustproof and waterproof must be guaranteed to be in good condition, which is very important for increased safety lamps. If the seal is damaged seriously, replace it with a seal of the same specification and the same material and replace the entire lamp if necessary. Pay attention to the integrity of the lamp cover during maintenance, and replace it if it is broken.
